Im Sorry Flowers
Everybody makes mistakes. Some mistakes are greater than others, but the best way to start on the path of forgiveness is to start with an apology. When a simple “I’m sorry” won’t suffice, what would be a reasonable step to take? Generally, a gesture is necessary, to exhibit regret or remorse. Once a gesture has been offered, it can either be accepted or rejected, but it is always the first step towards establishing peace among friends, siblings, lovers, or spouses. One of the traditional apology gifts is flowers. A dozen roses can soften a hardened heart. A beautiful arrangement of tulips and daffodils can help start a conversation, a back and forth dialogue, designed to help heal wounds. Since this is a long tradition, there are many different florists and flower stores and vendors that offer bouquets and arrangements that are specifically designed to convey a simple message: I’m sorry.
I’m sorry flowers don’t have to be hugely expensive or elaborate or large in order to convey the intended message. Often, it is the thought or the effort that counts. But it never hurt to make an effort with a large arrangement or an intricate bouquet. There are traditional flowers, like long-stem roses, and wonderfully symbolic flowers, like Japanese Peace Lilies. You can also go the route of sending an actual plat, not a collection of cut flowers. The plant will live longer and act as a stronger symbol of your relationship. Or you could go for the sheer numbers—it’s hard to ignore two hundred blossoms.
